Can't Imagine "Reimagining O'Keeffe and Stieglitz"

Icehouse on 10th in Sarasota, Florida is presenting an exhibition entitled Reimagining Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz sponsored by The Hermitage Artist Retreat and Sarasota Magazine.

Following is a description of the event by Icehouse on 10th.

Georgia O’Keeffe was one of two abstract painters in America 100 years ago. She went on to create iconic landscapes of the West. Alfred Stieglitz was the first to show the art of Rodin, Picasso and Matisse in America, and he fought to have photography recognized as “artistic.”

What would these two creative originals do today with digital cameras, Photoshop, inkjet printers – and after generations of artists had followed their pioneering paths? You are invited to see how artists worldwide have reimagined these two visionaries–in painting, prints, photos, silkscreens, sculpture, installations, video and even in music and dance, presented by Fuzión Dance Artists, and a performance piece by Jenny Aldrich.
We are proud to be sponsored by The Hermitage Artist Retreat and Sarasota Magazine.
The show runs through Sunday, Feb 16th,
12:00 noon to 6:00 PM daily.
Free admission.
